The order amount funds are freezed without debiting them immediately. Once the order is marked as delivered by the courier partner, the amount is debited from the customer’s account.
The payment process follows a secure flow:
1. Order Placement -: When a customer places an order, a transaction is created for the order amount. The funds are frozen in the customer’s account but not debited.
2. Delivery Confirmation -: Once the order is marked as delivered by the courier partner, the transaction is automatically executed and the amount is debited from the customer’s account.
3. Merchant Settlement: You receive payment in D+2 days (Delivered + 2 days).
When a customer selects Pay After Delivery and completes checkout: The order is automatically generated in your system as a prepaid order. A transaction is created and funds are frozen in the customer’s account. Order receives prepaid treatment for faster processing and delivery No manual intervention required – the system handles the entire flow seamlessly.
If an order needs to be cancelled before delivery, merchants can simply cancel the order in their store. Shiprocket Checkout will release the frozen funds back to the customer’s account.
